ANYONE CAN PUT ATHLETES IN COMPRESSION BOOTS AND CALL IT A RECOVERY ZONE.
WE PREPARE ATHLETES FOR COMPETITION
HOW PLAYMAKAR DOMINATES.
PRECOVERY™ IS OUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE.
Most Recovery Zones are designed around what happens after an athlete competes. Compression boots, massage tools, and other recovery technologies can be valuable, but their presence alone doesn't establish a comprehensive approach to athlete preparation.
PlayMakar Athlete Services begins earlier.
Our approach is built around Precovery™ — everything you intentionally do before stress arrives that determines how well you perform, adapt, and recover.
That means considering the athlete's readiness before competition, the demands placed on their body throughout the event, and the opportunity to recover between performances.
We use far-infrared saunas, targeted percussion, pneumatic compression, and other modalities according to the athlete's needs and where they are in their competition schedule.
The equipment matters. Understanding when, why, and how to use it matters just as much.

PREPARE. COMPETE. RECOVER.
-
PREPARE.
Before competition, we use Precovery™ practices to help athletes transition toward physical and mental readiness. Far-infrared sauna, targeted percussion, and other modalities are selected according to the athlete's needs and the demands ahead.
-
COMPETE.
Competition draws on the athlete's available resources. Between races, matches, and heats, PlayMakar provides a place to regroup, manage accumulated demands, and prepare for the next performance.
-
RECOVER.
After competition, attention shifts toward recovery and reinvestment. Our Recovery Zones provide access to compression, percussion, and other recovery tools to support the athlete's return toward readiness.
INSIDE THE RECOVERY ZONE
The tools. The environment. The experience.

Pneumatic Compression
Learn MoreSupports Recovery Between Performances
Intermittent pneumatic compression uses inflatable chambers that rhythmically apply and release pressure along the legs, encouraging fluid movement and supporting venous circulation.
For athletes competing in multiple races, matches, or events, compression provides a comfortable opportunity to rest while addressing the physical demands accumulating throughout the day.
At PlayMakar Recovery Zones, we use Rapid Reboot compression systems as part of a broader recovery experience, helping athletes make productive use of the time between performances.
-
Cold Water Immersion
Cooling & Recovery After Physical Exertion
Cold water immersion exposes the body to controlled cold temperatures, producing a temporary cooling response that may help reduce perceived muscle soreness and fatigue following demanding exercise.
At events where cold immersion is available, we consider the athlete's competition schedule, comfort, and recovery priorities before recommending a session.
Timing matters. Cold immersion immediately before another performance may not be appropriate for every athlete, and frequent post-training use can interfere with some strength-training adaptations.
-
Far Infrared Sauna
Learn MorePreparation Begins Before the Warm-Up
Our portable far-infrared saunas are central to the PlayMakar Precovery™ experience.
Before competition, athletes can spend a short period in a warm, quiet environment, allowing them to settle, regulate their breathing, and transition away from the noise and anticipation surrounding an event.
Our established Precovery™ sequence uses eight minutes of far-infrared sauna followed by targeted vibration to activate the stabilizing muscles before the athlete begins their conventional warm-up.
The goal is deliberate preparation, with heat exposure adjusted to the athlete, environment, and competition schedule.
-
Vibratory Massage
Learn MoreTargeted Tissue Preparation and Recovery
Percussion and vibration tools provide a practical way to work with specific muscle groups before and after competition.
Before an event, we use targeted vibration to activate the stabilizing muscles involved in the athlete's sport, helping prepare the neuromuscular system for their conventional warm-up.
Between performances and afterward, these tools offer another option for managing perceived muscle tightness and soreness.
Our PlayMakar MVP and MVP Mini devices allow us to adapt treatment to the athlete, the muscle group, and the demands of their sport.

Red Light & Infrared
Learn MoreLight-Based Support for Recovery
Red and near-infrared light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light that interact with tissues through a process known as photobiomodulation.
Research is exploring its potential role in muscle recovery, soreness, and exercise performance, although results vary according to the device, dosage, and application.
At select PlayMakar events, light therapy provides an additional option within our recovery environment. We consider it one part of a broader approach that includes preparation, rest, hydration, and appropriate recovery practices.

Phase Change Cold Therapy
Targeted Cooling Without the Ice Bath
Unlike cold water immersion, which exposes large portions of the body to cold temperatures, phase-change wraps allow athletes to apply cooling directly to specific areas such as the shoulders, knees, or other heavily used muscle groups.
We use OnyxCool wraps designed to maintain a temperature of 58°F for up to 75 minutes, providing consistent, localized cooling without the need for an ice bath.
During competition weekends, this provides a convenient recovery option between events or following physical exertion. The wraps are portable, easy to apply, and allow athletes to move about while receiving targeted cooling.
